Volunteer_coodinator_medium

Black Dog is seeking help with the coordination of our volunteers.  The main duties are:

1)  Work with Meet Director to prepare meet sign up sheets for registration and be at registration to answer any questions concerning that.
2)  Also, make sure there are enough volunteers for each meet by contacting those that have not signed up yet.

Please Contact Deb Luu if you have any questions regarding this opening.

Pie Night Results

Ronscottpieface_medium

The Fourth Annual Pie Night was loads of fun as always. Brigid McCormack convinced her folks that it would be a good idea to host a bunch of energetic swimmers eating pie, and they were fantastic hosts.

The official winning team was the Smallmouth Bass, consisting of Kennedy Blaschko, Lara Erdmann, Kelly Koch, and Brigid McCormack. They were also the youngest team, with an average age less than 8. The Smallmouth Bass made a "Fruit Pizza," which survived a challenge that it wasn't actually a pie to win by two points.

The unofficial People's Choice award (the pie that disappeared the fastest) went to the Walleyes - Jane Koch, Abby Thompson, Marissa Veness, and Chip Webster. The Walleyes made "Radioactive Lemon Meringue Pie," but every one was calling it a "Slime Pie" instead, because it looked like Nickelodeon Slime.

Thanks to all the swimmers who took part in the event. Hopefully everyone got to make some new friends, and/or strengthen existing friendships.

Our team consists of nearly 200 swimmers from various communities South of The River [Apple Valley, Eagan, Burnsville, Savage, Prior Lake, Lakeville, etc.]. We currently hold practice at 3 pools: Eagle Ridge Junior High in Savage; Burnsville High School and Rosemount Middle School.

Our goals are simple: to encourage our swimmers and families to have fun while developing a high level of self-esteem, goals, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and a positive outlook. Black Dog Swimmers range in age from 6 to 25 with skill levels just as broad!

Our certified coaches maintain a philosophy of developing our swimmers in all strokes and all distances. Many of our swimmers compete locally, some travel out of state, and others compete at national events, depending on skill level. Our coaching staff is dedicated to the sport of swimming and to continuing our team’s tradition of excellence.

I encourage anyone who is considering competitive swimming to try one of our 8-week Novice sessions to see if Black Dog Swimming is right for you!

Please contact me for further information and we'll see you at the pool……….
